AI and ethics

  With arrival of chatGPT 3.0; AI is no longer a fiction. World wide transformation to AI and Industry 4.0 is going on.

This raises several concerns like

  • Job security: it is important to council people about the importance of this change, e.g., on job counseling
  • Fairness: employees should be given ample chances to adopt and adapt, e.g., bridge courses
  • Transparency: AI rises several concerns regarding algorithms used, inherent biases, and hallucinations. It is important to balance accountability and business secrecy, e.g., self driving cars
  • International collaborations are necessary to ensure these. e.g., Responsible AI
Industrial revolutions are part and parcel of human history, e.g., agriculture, steam power, chemical energy etc. It is important to address the structural strain created by such changes to maximize benefits.
